In 3 or Fewer Words: Four letter word.
I’ll Remember This at Least Until I Dig Their Latest Album Out of My Discard Stack Because: It’s prog. And it wasn’t stultifying. The quintet, now based in Portland but hailing (rather famously) from Sarah Palin’s hometown of Wasilla, Alaska, stitched together classic rock hooks, friendly freakouts, tender interludes and lupine choruses to form a surprisingly cohesive jams. Fairly riveting? Yes, even if a healthy number of their fans (in typical Coachella ’10 fashion) were swaying and shaking to the music while their eyes and fingers were glued to their mobile devices. Because you never know when your next text message will be more interesting than somebody’s lyric.
