The Stagecoach festival brought some twang to the desert this past weekend – the lineup for the country and roots music version of Coachella mixed commercial favorites with some Western legends and more cutting-edge fare. Photographer Scott Dudelson sends along this gallery and a short list of his personal highlights:

‣ Merle Haggard: For no other reason than it is Merle Haggard!
‣ Nick13 from Tiger Army: First country performance ever was awesome: smooth country from a tatted-up punk.
‣ Avett Brothers: Their set was more country/roots-oriented than their Coachella set and had me and the crowd dancing.
‣ Victoria WIlliams: Because anything that wacky is captivating.
