The Silverlake Jubilee arrives with a bang this weekend, the first-year music and arts festival bringing some 50 bands to a three-stage neighborhood fair featuring cutting-edge DJs, comedy, spoken word, film, art and fashion – not to mention three dozen or so food trucks to satiate attendees’ appetites.

Buzz Bands LA has joined with Jubilee organizers to co-present the indoor stage at El Cid on Saturday and Sunday night. Eastern Conference Champions – supported by Mississippi Man, Francisco the Man and Polls – headline on Saturday; Useless Keys tops the bill on Sunday, with Death Kit, So Many Wizards and Tenlons Fort supporting.

Just for you, loyal Buzz Bands readers, I’ve compiled a two-hour podcast featuring 30 tracks by 30 of the bands playing the festival. Here you go:

Foreign Born, the Entrance Band, the Living Sisters, the Like, the Radar Brothers and Nico Stai highlight the fare on the two outdoor stages. The festival takes place on Myra Avenue between Santa Monica and Sunset, with main stages at the north and south ends, separated by 4-plus blocks of arts, eco and children’s villages, vendors and a beer garden.

Admission is $5 and benefits Los Angeles Arts & Athletics Alliance. The festival is also encouraging a Zero Waste initiative – so bring your own water bottles/cups, reusable bags and a blank T-shirt (to get it specially screen-printed).
