OK, I confess I’d forgotten about this song entirely until I heard this cover. It’s an electro’d-out verson of Prophet’s funky 1984 single “Tonight,” as rendered by Nite Jewel. The L.A. trio, originally the bedroom recording project of Ramona Gonzalez and now including Corey Lee Granet and Emily Jane Kuntz, is working on a follow-up “Good Evening.” Among the collaborators for the new album (targeted for a winter release): Stones Throw dude Dam-Funk. Meanwhile, Nite Jewel has a rather big gig tonight …
