L.A. quintet the Airborne Toxic Event’s new song “Neda” is a eulogy for Neda Agha-Soltan, the young woman whose death last year in Tehran while attending a peaceful protest of the results of Iran’s presidential election has become a rallying point for human rights activists. TATE debuted the song recently at an Echo benefit for the Amnesty International-related campaign Neda Speaks. The band’s frontman Mikel Jollett wrote and directed the video, with artwork by Mona Shafer Edwards. Proceeds from sales of the song (now on iTunes) are going to Amnesty International.
