[Have a sane Fourth of July weekend, folks. Really. And if you go the Hollywood Bowl for any of those Vince Gill/fireworks shows, please mosh safely.]

My favorite 5 reasons to mix some music with your pyrotechnics:

Baths, the musical manifestation of L.A. wunderkind Will Wiesenfeld, celebrate the release of their Anticon debut “Cerulean” on Saturday at the Troubadour (Daedelus supports), and rather than string together a freight train of adjectives about it, I’ll just recommend you stream it right here. Above, the fan video for “Maximalist” made by Ben Sifel using archival movie clips.
‣ The rockabilly dream date known as the Hootenanny goes off Saturday at Oak Canyon Ranch in Irvine, with Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis headlining.
Wallpaper headlines Spaceland tonight.
Dam-Funk headlines the Troubadour tonight.
‣ And Magic Bullets stop in at Part-Time Punks on Sunday night.

Elsewhere, there’s Jane Addiction, Mates of State, Dead Man’s Bones and Love Revisited. See my weekend roundup on LA Weekly’s West Coast Sound.
