There’s a lot of the sun-splashed Sixties in the music of A B & the Sea, the Bay Area quintet that was founded in Wisconsin by guitarists Koley O’Brien and Joe Spargur. Two years after O’Brien and Spargur packed up the van and headed west, they’ve combined with Troy Lawton, Zak LaVigne and David Hunt to sha-la-la their way into the hearts of plenty of fans. Spreading their music via free downloads hasn’t hurt, either. Their latest EP, “Boys & Girls,” was made with the help of the Morning Benders’ Christopher Chu and Wallpaper’s Eric Frederic, but it’s the harmonies more than the indie cred that will make you long for the beach, boys.
