Top 3 places to fill your ears tonight:
‣ Globe-trotting world-beat phenoms Fool’s Gold play their first L.A. club show since December (though if you were lucky, you caught their too-short set at the Hollywood Bowl in June) at the Troubadour, with Wallpaper and Rainbow Arabia supporting.
‣ Dirty rock ’n’ roll revivalists the Jim Jones Revue (think Jerry Lee Lewis meets the Stooges) play the Echo, with underrated SoCal rockers the BellRays opening. That’s Jim Jones’ video for “Rock ’n’ Roll Psychosis,” above.
‣ And there’s a good lineup of locals at the Silverlake Lounge, with Honey Living Cells, Go West Young Man, the Ross Sea Party and the Lonely Wild playing.
Elsewhere: The All for the Hall fundraiser (Emmylou Harris, Taylor Swift, Kris Kristofferson) benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame at Club Nokia; Chinese White Bicycles (Robyn Hitchcock and Joe Boyd) at Largo; Dirty Projectors at the Glass House; EOTO and Mimosa at the Music Box; Brass Bed and George Glass at Spaceland; Loch & Key at the Redwood Bar; Atomic Tom and Alestar Digby at the Viper Room; Jeremy Toback and Judson & Mary at the Hotel Cafe; Easy Star All Stars at the Roxy; the Whiskey Saints at 3 Clubs; Cassorla and Slang Chickens at Echo Curio; Hosannas at the Smell; the Ooks of Hazzard at the Mint; and Wet & Reckless’ 7 p.m. in-store at Origami Vinyl
