When we last spotted the U.K. funk-soul machine known as the Heavy, they were turning the courtyard of the Hammer Museum into a sweaty mess during July’s Also I Like to Rock series. They’re on the way back to the U.S. with a new EP due next week, “How You Like Me Now?” Included are a couple of new songs, a tighter, brighter version of a 2007 single “That Kind of Man” and two value-added numbers: The title track and 2007’s “Colleen,” both remade with the Dap-Kings Horns. (The Heavy toured earlier this year with Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.) Souled out, in a good way.
