Flying Lotus let his musical imagination run wild on his sprawling new EP “Pattern+Grid World,” the follow-up to his acclaimed album from earlier this yer, “Cosmogramma.” In the video for “Kill Your Co-Workers,” the man born Steven Ellison has found a visual collaborator with an equally wide vision. Animator Beeple has made available for download all of the 3D models used in the video, so other animators may use them in their project. [Find them here.] Says the animator: “I like to think of it as sort of an ‘open source video’ in that all of the pieces of the project are also released for people to do what they’d like with.” Yes, all this is quite possibly way over Buzz Bands’ head; for once, I’m just happy I don’t have any co-workers.
