Ears Wide Open: Jenny O

3

New York-born Jenny O has been a familiar face on the L.A. scene for a while, having played aside enough local artists to fill a week’s worth of bills in Silver Lake. Although there’s an unreleased album she recorded last year, Jenny O is finally unveiling her first batch of solo material, the self-produced “Home” EP, out today digitally with a vinyl release forthcoming on Manimal. The first track, “Well, OK Honey,” melds her dual sensibilities – jazz and Americana – irresistably, its doubled vocals offering twice her cherubic charm. Fans who have heard her with the likes of Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Chris Garneau, Jonathan Wilson, He’s My Brother – She’s My Sister, Spirit Animal and the LA Ladies Choir won’t be disappointed.
