[From your humble blogger: The crush of music I receive each day, digitally and physically, is overwhelming. In the past I’ve pretty much only posted tracks for which I have time to write a full capsule. Now, in the interests of simply sharing more music, I’m going to start “quick posts” of tracks with brief explanations. Thanks for reading/listening.]
File under New Music From Old Favorites:
‣ PJ Harvey, “Written on the Forehead.” Stream only, but worth your time. From the 41-year-old rocker’s forthcoming album “Let England Shake,” due Feb. 15 on Vagrant.
‣ Buffalo Tom, “Arise, Watch.” Sending you to Stereogum for this track. If you don’t like Buffalo Tom, I’m not sure we can have a conversation. New album “Skins” coming Feb. 15 via their own Scrawny Records.
‣ British Sea Power, “Living Is So Easy.” The Brighton crazies’ first L.A. show still ranks among my Top 10 favorite moments at Spaceland. Guitars down, synths up here, compared to old material. New album “Valhalla Dancehall” due Jan. 11 via Beggars.
