In addition to the four excellent bands performing at the Buzz Bands LA Holiday Happening on Tuesday night at the Echo, our merch table will be offering a special on stocking-stuffers. We’ve thinned Buzz Bands’ overflowing shelves of CDs and assembled a box of promos and store-bought items. It works like this: You give $5 to the Pablove Foundation at the merch table, and you get to blind-draw an item from the goodies box. It’s not throw-away stuff, either – we’ve spiked the box with a couple nice reissues and deluxe sets. Oh, and a couple of the CDs cases will include free tickets to the next Buzz Bands-hosted show, Dec. 30 at the Roxy featuring U.K. rockers the Duke Spirit.
Here’s your lineup for Tuesday night:
9 p.m. – John Carpenter – The frontman of this L.A. trio metes out searing riffage that darts into punk, blues and garage-rock territory. Get a track here.
10 p.m. – Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits – Gorgeous, noisy pop from the new quartet fronted by Jack Burnside (ex-Mezzanine Owls). Get a track here.
11 p.m. – Lonely Trees – Atmospheric, percussive rock from a the new quintet featuring Christian Stone (ex-Campfire Girls) and Annalee Fery (ex-Monsters Are Waiting) at one of their early shows. Get a track here.
12 –Non Ultra Joy – Plenty of classic influences (the Cure, Sugar, etc.) played with abandon from this new L.A. trio. Get a track here.
Kind of scares me when you say “spiked the box,” Kevin, but a great lineup and a great charity so $5 I shall bring.
Killer lineup. See you there.
