Tonight’s top 4 reasons to grab an umbrella and go:

‣ It’s the live debut of Middle Brother – the collaboration between John McCauley of Deer Tick, Matt Vasquez of Delta Spirit and Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes [see our post last week] – at the Troubadour as part of the big benefit for Invisible Children.  Cass McCombs (pictured) is playing too, along with Mountain Man, Guards and Blake Mills. To start the evening, there will be a screening of “The Pretender,” McCombs’ multimedia collaboration with filmmaker Aaron Brown.
‣ The IAMMSOUND-curated residency at the Echo, which has been packed every week, goes off tonight with Fool’s GoldShadow Shadow Shade, Evan Voytas and Rumspringa.
Sweaters’ residency at Spaceland/the Satellite should be lively too – Wet and Reckless and Allah Las support.
‣ And the Chances continue their residency at the Silverlake Lounge; get there early to see Jason Diaz and Quazar and the Bamboozled.

Not to mention: The Blind Boys of Alabama’s Christmas Show at Disney Hall; Midnight Magic at the RSVP-only It’s a School Night at Bardot; Agent Ribbons at the Bootleg Theater; So Many Wizards at Pehrspace; Marcus Very Ordinary at the Mint; and Boyz Skule at the Tar Pit bar.
