‣ The Melvins continue their residency tonight at the Satellite – they will play what many feel is their best album, “Houdini.”
‣ Illinois-born, Ojai-based songstress Lissie [nice profile in the Times today] headlines the Music Box on Saturday. Her album “Catching a Tiger” is great. Above, “Everywhere I Go,” from the singer’s LiveBuzz session.
‣ Vanaprasta, along Mariah McManus, John Isaac Watters and John Carpenter, play the “To Haiti With Love” benefit show at the Bootleg Theater on Saturday night.
‣ John Doe plays three shows, tonight and Saturday at McCabe’s and Sunday at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa.
‣ And on Sunday night, a great lineup of local bands gather for a free shows at the Troubadour – Eastern Conference Champions, the Ruby Friedman Orchestra and Gliss.
