Tonight’s top outings:
‣ Olin & the Moon, their new album “Footsteps” getting them some deserved attention, continue their residency at the Echo with fine support from Wire in the Walls and Family of the Year.
‣ Black Moth Super Rainbow main man Tobacco brings his vocoder-addled electronica to the Echoplex. Above is the video for “Grape Aerosmith (featuring Beck),” off last year’s album “Maniac Meat.”
‣ With their new EP “Serf” just out, San Diego’s Tape Deck Mountain headlines the Silverlake Lounge. Early arrival recommended for Hands and Evan Voytas.
‣ Useless Keys and Modern Time Machines get on board for the Monolators’ residency at LaBrie’s in Glendale.
‣ And at the Satellite, where Mastodon side projects Fiend Without a Face and West End Motel get top billing, local popsmiths Taylor Locke & the Roughs and Bleu open.
