Tonight in L.A.: Abe Vigoda, Young Prisms, Night Horse, Nikka Costa, Dashboard Confessional

Top shows to consider tonight while giving deep thought to why bands pepper us with breathless press releases for something so mundane as naming an album:

‣ The all-local lineup at the Autry Museum features an interesting mix, including Lord Huron performing with the Calder Quartet. Abe Vigoda headlines, and Gamble House also supports in a show that starts early (7 p.m.)
‣ San Francisco psych-rockers Young Prisms – their debut album “Friends for Now” just out on Kanine Records – play the Satellite, with L.A.’s Twilight Sleep supporting.
‣ It’s fire-breathing blues rock at the Echo, where Night Horse plays behind last year’s release “Perdition Hymns,” with the Binges and Chief Nowhere supporting. That’s Night Horse’s video for “Rollin’ On,” above.
‣ And Space Waves celebrate the release of their debut “Receptions” at 3 Clubs.
