[So long, January. Happy 55th birthday, John Lydon. Onward:]

Top 5 ways to start your week:

Peter Bjorn & John have been making the rounds as if they’re an up-and-coming buzz band. Secret show Saturday night, gig at the Center for the Arts in Eagle Rock on Sunday … and tonight, an appearance at It’s a School Night at Bardot (the RSVP list is already full). Nashville-based songstress Tristen [pictured] will also perform – she’ll play the Echo on Tuesday, the day her album “Charlatans at the Garden Gate” is released.
The Fling and the Belle Brigade close out their dual residency at the Satellite, with Writer and Obi Best supporting. By the way, if you don’t have Writer’s free “Miss Mermaid” single, go get it.
‣ Cannoneers of the New Command finish up their Echo residency, with the Hundred Days and the Bixby Knolls opening.
Family of the Year, along with Hands, play a free show at the Bootleg Theater.
‣ And at the Hotel Cafe, it’s Sierra Swan & Heather Porcaro, along with a guest turn from Linda Perry.
