Top choices for Tuesday:
‣ Noah & the Whale’s third album, “Last Night on Earth,” comes out today, and the orchestral pop band plays to a sold-out Troubadour tonight. Above, their video for “L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.” Luke Rathborne opens.
‣ Noise-pop duo Alpine Decline headlines the Echo, supported by Residual Echoes.
‣ And singer-songwriters Daniel Ahearn and Toby Burke team up for a show at the Fretted Frog in Echo Park.

All that I have heard of the Noah and the Whale album, I like. The soulful remorse in the songs reach out and beckon you in. I particularly love ‘Last night on earth’, but if you are going to want to rip someone’s heart out, cast it to the ground and jump all over it, do it properly like Chris Loveridge’s ‘Girl’ that made me feel like I never want to get into a relationship again because you know it’s going to hurt a bit like watching a nurse approach with a hypodermic.
