Brian Wright is no stranger to the L.A. music scene as he and his backing band, the Waco Tragedies, have also gained a loyal following across the nation. However, hometown fans will see Wright boldly stepping into the spotlight all on his own as he gets ready to release his solo debut, “House on Fire.” Whereas he and the Waco Tragedies recorded the two previous albums within a span of three days to capture the band’s true energy, Wright has been able to take the time and fulfill his dream of playing every instrument on a new record. Old fans needn’t worry about a lack of boisterousness, but Wright’s newly-curated collection of handpicking should be noted for its relaxed reflections. This live clip which features local songstress Jamie Drake is a nice taste of Wright’s foray into his role as sole songwriter and producer.
