[Local festival notes …]
‣ Quite a lineup for this year’s Make Music Pasadena, the one-day festival June 18 that features some 300 artists at more than 30 venues in the City of Roses. The Morning Benders (pictured), Ra Ra Riot and Best Coast top the diverse bill, which also includes Saint Motel, Jenny O, Kisses, Hello Seahorse!, Carla Morrison, Rocky Dawuni, Tijuana Panthers and Zola Jesus, among others.
‣ There’s a lot to like in the lineup for the Silverlake Jubilee on May 21-22 too, including the return of the Little Ones, an appearance by Baths side project Geotic and sets from the likes of Ceci Bastida, Ximena Sariñana, Lady Danville, Summer Darling, Dante Vs. Zombies and Races.
‣ Watch this space for an announcement soon of the lineup for the Also I Like to Rock series at the Hammer Museum, which goes off every Thursday in July.
‣ The lineup for the Sunset Junction Street Fair is being kept under wraps so far, but one name I’ve heard confirmed for the big Sunset Boulevard festival Aug. 27-28 is Art Brut. Ready, Silver Lake?
‣ The first two dates in the Getty Center’s Saturdays Off the 405 series feature Avi Buffalo (May 7) and Dengue Fever (June 18).
