Buzz Bands LA show, at 3 p.m. on Moheak.com

1

With the Silverlake Jubilee on the horizon this weekend and so many good shows coming down the pike it makes me dizzy, there’s plenty to talk about on the Buzz Bands LA show today on Moheak Radio. We’ll pile on, then – today I will welcome the members of the previously dormant L.A. indie-pop band Aberdeen, who are reuniting for a couple of shows next month (including June 5 at the Echo). Anybody smitten with the current indie-pop explosion led by the likes of the Pains of Being Pure at Heart should know Aberdeen’s releases. Today we’ll talk the band, the forthcoming show, and what it was like to go to high school with Josh Homme. And they will take over part of my playlist for the day.

After the jump, I’ll be updating the playlist as we go:

Aberdeen, “Drive” (as introduced by a DJ who is certainly not me)
Trembling Blue Stars, “My Face for the World to See”
Aberdeen, “The Boy Has Gone Away”
Aberdeen, “Sink or Float”
Black Flamingo, “Proud Head”
Letting Up Despite Great Faults, “Helium”
