Back in May, we tipped you that the Hotel Café would be curating a stage at this year’s Sunset Junction. The lineup was announced today, and it includes a stellar cast of artists who’ve regularly played the Cahuenga Boulevard room, including Cary Brothers, Butch Walker and the Black Widows, Jim Bianco, HoneyHoney, Buddy and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s favorite local band, the Rescues.
Walker, the 41-year-old songwriter, producer and former head honcho of the Marvelous 3, was just signed to Dangerbird Records and is planning to release a follow-up to 2010’s “I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart” this fall.
In other Hotel Café-related news, a planned July 4 show for the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre has been postponed (until late summer or fall) due to slow ticket sales. Meiko, Ruth & Salvage Co., Anya Marina and Brian Wright were among the artists scheduled to play the show – here’s what’s happening with them.
