‣ Scorching night ahead at the Troubadour, where Mexican garage-rockers Le Butcherettes headline, supported by Adebisi Shank and Tera Melos.
‣ Rickie Lee Jones (pictured), with her “Live In Stockholm” DVD coming out next week, is back on tour. She plays It’s a School Night at Bardot, joined by young L.A. soul trio KING.
‣ Four June residencies – all of which have enjoyed excellent lineups and big crowds – come to an end in Silver Lake/Echo Park environs: Henry Wolfe at the Bootleg (tonight with the Chapin Sisters, Harper Simon and Charlie Wadhams); the Californian at the Satellite (with Blonde Summer and the Ross Sea Party); Dante Vs Zombies at the Echo (with Black Flamingo and the Crystelles); and Duniven at the Silverlake Lounge (with Woolen and the Bixby Knolls).
‣ The Pointer Sisters headline a benefit at the Roxy for the Friendly House LA treatment center.
