Sondre Lerche, “Domino” – The 28-year-old Norwegian singer-songwriter’s new self-titled album (just out on Mona Records, an imprint ostensibly named for his model/actress wife Mona Fastvold) is a bit rougher around edges than his previous five records, but the songwriting is still meticulous and sharp. Lerche plays the El Rey Theatre on Wednesday.
Yacht, “Utopia” – Yeah, they’re trippy, Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans are. The Portland duo’s new album of percolating synths and fast-paced beats, “Shangri-La,” is just out, and the band will be playing the FYF Fest on Sept. 3 in downtown L.A.
Teddybears, “Cho Cha” (ftr. Cee Lo Green and the B-52’s) – The masked men from Sweden released their new album “Devil’s Music” last week. Among the guests: Robyn, Cee Lo Green, the B-52’s, and the Flaming Lips. The Robyn track seems a little … obvious.
