This list, like hopefully today’s traffic, will be holiday weekend light:
‣ Red Sparowes (pictured), Night Horse, Radio Moscow and Ides of Gemini join other bands at Tee Pee Records’ second annual New Weird America Festival at the Nomad Gallery (1993 Blake Ave.). It kicks off at 2.
‣ Hootenanny goes off at Oak Canyon Ranch in Irvine, with Dropkick Murphys, John Doe, Reverend Horton Heat, Murder City Devils and more.
‣ Hall & Oates hit the Hollywood Bowl for an evening complete with a fireworks show.
‣ The Bellrays have a new album coming in September; tonight they rock the Satellite.
‣ And Sabrosa Purr plays the Bootleg, along with Venus Illuminato and Michael Feerick of Amusement Parks on Fire.
