Video: Kurt Vile, ‘Baby’s Arms’

It’s funny how sepia tones will make anything look romantic, and the clip for Kurt Vile‘s “Baby’s Arms” is liable to bring back memories of teen romance. The Todd Cole-directed music video for Vile’s latest single off of “Smoke Ring For My Halo” highlights the small things that matter in life: bike riding, BBQs, illegally tagging a wall and, in this young couple’s case, making out. However, we would have never known that all this nostalgic footage was captured entirely on a Windows Phone. (The clip is part of the Windows Phone Me series, a collection of short film essays exploring the a day in the life of creative Windows Phone users.) Only if you were to go back and re-watch the close-ups of the skateboarders, would you be able to see any shaking. It’s remarkable how today’s high technology can be utilized to project such a simple idea.
