Jason Drake has a sense of humor, even if Kevin Spacey doesn’t. Drake, the L.A.-via-Brooklyn electro guru and onetime partner in the Definitive Jux label, had planned to release his new album as Cassettes Won’t Listen with the title “Kevinspacey.” The actor ordered him to cease and desist. So the new album is titled “EVINSPACEY” (out last month on Daylight Curfew). And on his “CWL 101” mixtape none other than Ira Glass introduces Drake, who proves an adept juggler of synths, samples, vocals and pop hooks. Like the video for the single “Perfect Day” that Drake made with Vedette Lim, it’s irresistible.
