[Happy birthday today to Sir Mix-a-Lot, who gave the world “Baby Got Back” …]

Tonight’s show list is not lacking for quality or quantity:

‣ It’s the end of a long summer of touring for Mark Oliver Everett and Eels – who played to thousands in Glastonbury, rocked Beijing, saw a concert scotched in Shanghai (their equipment didn’t show up) and joined Ringo Starr onstage in Norway for “With a Little Help From My Friends.” Eels wind up their travels behind their 2009-10 album trilogy tonight at the El Rey Theatre, supported by the Submarines. [By the way, if you blanked on the album trilogy, you can trade your e-mail address for a download from each album right here.]
‣ Should be a lovely night at the Greek Theatre, where the Decemberists headline behind their January release “The King Is Dead.” Wye Oak opens> That’s Decemberists’ video for “This Is Why We Fight,” above.
Rodrigo y Gabriela, fresh off the European festival circuit, plays the Hollywood Bowl with Los Amigos Invisibles.
Fonda – whose comeback EP “Better Days” makes us swoon – plays their first show in eight years at Club Underground at the Echo, with Love Grenades also on board.
‣ José González brings his trio Junip to the Bootleg Theater for an intimate show, with Beware of Safety supporting.
‣ Good underground hip-hop at the Roxy, where Sole & the Skyrider Band headlines behind their album “Goodbye Cruel World,” and L.A.’s Busdriver and 2Mex support.
‣ And Eastern Conference Champions play a free show at Universal CityWalk.
