Hot As Sun’s blissed-out music exists only in small quantities so far – their four-song EP released last November – but the electro-popgazers anchored by Jamie Jackson and Deborah Stoll have more songs in the works. And their recent trip to New York to perform amid glitter and go-go dancers at artist Peter Tunney’s gallery opening afforded them (abetted by filmmaker Jim Wright) the opportunity to make a video for a new dance-floor banger, “The Desert Song.” Which proves as intoxicating as whatever they serve at NYC gallery openings. Save a spot on your holiday party mixes, though – in the next month, Hot As Sun will be releasing a remix of their first single “Come Come” (by the Kick Drums, and featuring rapper Freddie Gibbs), as well as a cover of Van Halen’s “Hot for Teacher.”
