If the late Amy Winehouse had been influenced by Wanda Jackson and rockabilly instead of soul and jazz, she might have turned out to be a fast-moving rock ‘n’ roller along the lines of Australia’s Lanie Lane (pronounced “Lanny”). Her smokey yet sassy sound has earned her tour spots with artists such as Justin Townes Earle and L.A.’s own Fitz & the Tantrums. Early singles such as “What Do I Do” also hints at some jazz influences, but it’s tunes such as “Ain’t Hungry” on her recent Jack White-produced 7-inch single (via Third Man Records) that relays her talent for writing hooks that stomp and stick. She’ll be making her U.S. debut with a hand full of tour dates this fall, and when she returns to Oz, she’ll be putting the finishing touches on her debut record that is slated for a 2012 release.

I really like this artist. She’s got the voice, the look, the whole package. You must checkout the review I did on a band called American Pinup. Her voice is like Imelda May on steroids.
Love this girl’s voise. She is destined to be an icon.Love the music and styling
Hopefully she wont find a record label that will make her music turn around 180 degrees and end up on MTV 🙂
