The Smashing Pumpkins visit the Wiltern, promising to preview some material off their forthcoming album “Oceania” (due in 2012). Fancy Space People (featuring Don Bolles) and Light FM open.
Blondie plays Club Nokia behind their new album “Panic of Girls,” and L.A. trio Nico Vega opens.
Devotchka does a cozy show at the Bootleg Theater, with Mini Mansions supporting.
Peter Bjorn & John wind up a string of SoCal dates with a show at the El Rey Theatre, with Hanni El Khatib opening.
‣ Australian songstress Lanie Lane [see yesterday’s post] heads up a big lineup at the Silverlake Lounge that includes Terra Naomi and Ari Shine.
Gomez visits the House of Blues behind this summer’s release of their seventh album, “Whatever’s on Your Mind.” That’s their video for the title track, above.
‣ Local quartet Vanish Valley [see last week’s post] celebrates the release of its album “Get Good” at the Hotel Cafe on a night that Austin’s Bob Schnieder also visits.
‣ And three other shows involving artists who have been featured here: The Sister Ruby Band at 3 Clubs; the New Division at the Central SAPC; and Standing Shadows at the Roxy.
