Although there are many musicians who think their bedroom is as good as a studio these days, music that is initially arranged on a personal computer doesn’t necessarily lack depth. Australia’s Guineafowl has set out to destroy this common assumption of laptop shallowness through his band’s debut EP “Hello Anxiety” out now on Dangerbird Records. There may be some electronic components in songs such as “Little Fingers,” but guitars and drums hold as much ground, making these Aussies impossible to associate with the lo-fi genre. Although it only took five days to record and mix the EP, the time and precision Guineafowl has put in to these songs beforehand have nicely flourished from solitary ideas to tangible ear candy for all.
