After the demise of indie rock quintet Low vs. Diamond in 2010, we’ve followed the endeavors of former band members such as Anthony Polcino through his new solo project Soft Pipes. However, it’s been a while since we’ve heard from their frontman Lucas Field. After the band released a self-titled album that spawned majestic odes such as “Don’t Forget Sister” and “Heart Attack,” and tirelessly toured as support for the likes of Jack’s Mannequin and Ben Lee, one wonders what Field has been busy with since his departure. It turns out he’s replaced guitar anthems with ’70s soul and R&B that highlight touches of gospel music and bass lines that groove both heavy and light textures in tandem with his smooth vocals. Now a Seattle, WA.,-based artist, Field’s solo debut “Conquest of Happiness” is slated for a Nov. 15 release.
