Tops for your Wednesday:

Tune-Yards, the vehicle for Merrill Garbus and her powerful voice, bring their beat-crazy experimental pop to the Music Box along with Cut Chemist. Garbus has come a long way since her January appearance at First Fridays at the Natural History Museum. She now performs fronting a four-piece; her album “w h o k i l l” has become a critical favorite; she recently made a cameo with the Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono band at the Iceland Airwaves Festival; and her video for “Bizness” is at a million views and counting. Above, her DIY video for “Gangsta.”
‣ Indie supergroup Wild Flag – that’s Carrie Brownstein, Rebecca Cole, Mary Timony, and Janet Weiss – kick off a two-night stand at the Troubadour. Their self-titled album came out in September on Merge.
‣ Dream-pop whiz Youth Lagoon visits the Echo behind his debut on Fat Possum, “The Year of Hibernation.” Young Magic and Driftwood Singers open.
‣ And Richard Patrick and Filter rock the Viper Room behind their August release “The Trouble With Angels.”
