Fonda, “Some Things Aren’t Worth Knowing” – Since we premiered the title track from their EP “Better Days” back in May, good things have happened for Fonda. The release has been picked up by Chicago-based label Minty Fresh, which will release and expanded version of “Better Days” on vinyl on Nov. 28. Yes, that means more music, including this track, with Emily Cook’s vocals recalling latter-period Lush.

With that band on hiatus, guitarist Rod Jones has undertaken a new solo project, the Birthday Suit, whose sound recalls the early (punkier and angular) Idlewild sound. The band’s debut album is titled “The Eleventh Hour.”

Serenades are Adam Olenius (of Shout Out Louds fame) and Markus Krunegard, and their first EP “Come Home” comes out Nov. 15. The teaser single “Oceans” is lovely as a day at the beach. Serenades make their L.A. debut Dec. 12 at It’s a School Night at Bardot and Dec. 13 at the Bootleg Theater.
