OK, this qualifies as an insanely busy night on the show circuit:

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds do the first of two nights at UCLA’s Royce Hall behind their big-selling debut album. That’s the video for “AKA… What a Life!,” above, featuring Russell Brand and (at the 4:16 mark) a Low Flying Owls T-shirt. I loved that band.
‣ It’s a fountain of folk-rock at the Music Box, where locals Dawes and the Belle Brigade join Portland’s Blitzen Trapper, touring in support of their new album on Sub Pop, “American Goldwing.” Co-headliner Dawes have earned great response for their second album “Nothing Is Wrong,” and the Belle Brigade’s self-titled debut came out earlier this year to much acclaim.
Future Islands, who delivered one of the most talked-about sets at September’s FYF Fest, are back in L.A. for a show at hte Echoplex behind their debut “On the Water.”
Mary J. Blige rocks material from her new album “My Life II … The Journey Continues (Act 1)” at Club Nokia.
Boom Bip kicks of a series of three Thursdays at the Satellite behind his new album “Zig Zaj.” Support includes Money Mark, ESP and WIM.
‣ Very fun bill at the Echo, where Hunx & His Punx, Bleached, FIDLAR perform.
‣ Great local bill at the Silverlake Lounge headed up by LA Font and Sunken Ships, with David Shane Smith doing the late set.
‣ And Nico Stai, with a pocketful of new material, will preview some of it with a full-band show at Harvard & Stone.
