Your Sunday variety:

Robotanists and Shadow Shadow Shade headline a worthy lineup at the Airliner including acts such as Death to Anders, Two Guns, and more to kick off a new weekly series called Traffic Ctrl. This just in (3:30 p.m.): Robotanists, Shadow Shadow Shade and Two Guns will not be performing. A note on the Facebook event page said the “lineup has been cut” without saying who is playing. D2A and Open Source Rebellion are definitely in, we hear. As they say on TV, check your local listings.
‣ Captured Tracks synth-pop band Soft Metals [that’s their video for “Voices” above] play Part Time Punks night at the Echo along with Animal Bodies and Feathers (making their L.A. debut; check out “Land of the Innocent”).
‣ Margaret Cho and Grant-Lee Phillips co-emcee A Concert to Benefit School Music Revival at Largo to raise funds for instruments and equipment lost in the devastation wreaked by the earthquake and tsunami of Japan. Roster of performers include: Sam Phillips, Van Dyke Parks, Linda Perry, Mike Watt, Wendy & Lisa, Def Leppard’s Vivian Campbell, Jenny O and more. The Section Quartet who will be hosting the event will also serve as the house band. [Check out Cho’s video for “I’m With the Band.”]
‣ L.A.’s Sunken Ships and Wires in the Walls provide some local music over at a free show at Lot 1 Cafe. Tucson’s Holy Rolling Empire help round out the night.
Bikos play a free show in the loft of Origami Vinyl. [Check out “You Want It.”]
