Fantastic Friday things:
‣ Old-school R&B adventurer Nick Waterhouse, at work on a debut album coming out in the spring, brings his edgy, vintage sounds to the Bootleg Theater. [Refresher: See the video for “I Can Only Give You Everything.”] The Allah Las and Anna Egge support.
‣ At the Echo, it’s soul phenom Allen Stone. [See our post Tuesday.]
‣ L.A.-based pop songstress Priscilla Ahn plays the El Rey Theatre, with Ferraby Lionheart opening. That’s the video for “When You Grow Up,” the title track of her sophomore album that came out in May.
‣ Lord Huron visits Skybar at the Mondrian Hotel for another in the series of IAMSOUND’s Mondrian Sessions.
‣ Punk provocateur Hammell on Trial, on his “The Evolution Revolution” tour, plays an early gig at the Hotel Cafe, followed by a trio of local bands, the Janks, Act As If and the Ruse.
‣ And Peter Case does the first of two night’s at McCabe’s Guitar Shop behind his new release “The Case Files.”
