New year, new month, new free residencies:

‣ L.A. quartet Chasing Kings, their debut album “Nice Guys” on the way in March, hold forth at the Satellite, supported on opening night by Toy Bombs, Cassorla and Brendan Hines.
‣ Bootleg Theater residents Princeton have new music coming too – the quartet’s sophomore album “Remembrance of Things to Come” will be out Feb. 21. The first night of January residency features Lesands and Red Pony Clock.
‣ Indie-rock quintet Seasons kick off the year with the release of their fourth EP, “Autumn” [see our post on the track “Monday Nights”] and kick off an Echo residency with One Trick Pony, Torches and Count Fleet. Stream Seasons’ EP here.
‣ Singer-songwriter Vinnie Ferra brings his indie-folk to the Silverlake Lounge, with Leerone among the openers of Night 1 of his residency.
‣ And across town and not a residency: Sabrosa Purr heads up a big rock lineup at the Viper Room.
