Raise a glass for Elvis:

The Annual Elvis Presley Birthday Bash – the King would have turned 77 years old today – goes off startinga t 4 p.m. at the Echoplex. The long-running event, staged by Art Fein and now more than 25 years old itself, brings a host of musicians and celebrities to the stage to celebrate and interpret Presley’s music. Fun, with no Elvis impersonators.
‣ Vancouver’s Felix Cartal heads up the party at Drai’s Hollywood. That’s the video for the new Dim Mak Records single “Don’t Turn on the Lights,” above.
‣ Excellent lineup at the Satellite tonight as the venue’s no-cover-charge “Satellite Nights” series continues – Big Moves, Tennis System, Yoya and David Shane Smith.
