There’s something funny about Matthew McConaughey singing the lyrics to Butch Walker & the Black Widows‘ “Synthesizers.” Perhaps it’s because the lip-synching involves his reprisal of the “Dazed and Confused” character David Wooderson, who has, indeed, stayed the same age. Still wearing those ’70s duds and burning one down, he’s got the young girls following him around in a modern club setting this time around. After taking in the extra eye candy like the creep he brilliantly was in the 1993 stoner comedy, he stops to say hi to the bartender (who should look very familiar) on his way to seal the deal. Alright, alright or not? Walker’s “The Spade” is out now on Dangerbird Records.
Trivia: Walker and McConaughey were born 10 days apart in 1969.
