Animal Collective, Hot Chip, Passion Pit among the offerings on the 2012 Hollywood Bowl schedule

KCRW-sponsored shows featuring Animal Collective and Hot Chip/Passion Pit were among the dates announced today as part of the Hollywood Bowl summer slate, which will feature superstar conductor Gustavo Dudamel’s six-night “Americas and Americans” festival in August, appearances by Ben Harper (July 1), Smokey Robinson (July 20-21) and Norah Jones (Aug. 10), and Anita Baker and Esperanza Spalding (Aug. 22) and the venues usual fare of stellar classical, jazz and theatrical productions.

The Hot Chip/Passion Pit show is Sept. 9. Animal Collective, supported by the Tuvan throat singing group Huun Huur Tu from Siberia, will perform Sept. 23.
