Mp3-pack: David Shane Smith, Saint Motel, Dot Hacker

Notable new tracks from artists we’ve written about recently:
David Shane Smith, “Additives” – The electro-experimental collagist who caught our ears last year with the mind-bending “Shampoo” returns with another track that bends beats, synths, guitars and sundry other noises into something very compelling. And, hey, that’s Christian Bale.
Saint Motel, “Honest Feedback” (limited time) – The hard-playing quartet of A/J Jackson, Aaron Sharp, Greg Erwin and Dak follows up last month’s video for “At Least I Have Nothing” with another track from its forthcoming album. Saint Motel’s power-pop goes a little retro here – as always with them, all in good fun.
Dot Hacker, “Inhibition” – We mentioned last week that the debut EP from Dot Hacker – the project from Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, along with Eric Gardner, Clint Walsh and Jonathan Hischke – didn’t sound much like a guitarist’s album. This track, which debuted today on Rolling Stone, is further proof. Soar.
