Knowing Gene Simmons’ penchant for litigation, we wonder whether Madi Diaz has heard from any lawyers about her video for “Gimme a Kiss.” Director Erich Weiss – he of the documentary film on the legendary tattoo artist Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins – turned the winsome song on its ear for the video: “I just got sick of seeing the saccharine, ”˜lonely-girl-strumming-guitar-in-sun-rays’ type video that seem standard for singer-songwriters,” he said. Diaz herself is also proving to exceed the standard for singer-songwriters; the Pennsylvania-born, Nashville-based songstress in January released her charmer of a second album, “Plastic Moon,” to good reviews. It is not metal.
