And then there was Saturday:
‣ Two bands with highly anticipated albums on the way – Magic Wands (pictured) and Gliss – team up with Sabrosa Purr and Harper Blynn at the benefit show for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s SXSW efforts at the Satellite. Magic Wands’ “Aloha Moon” is en route April 24, and Gliss has “Langsom Dons” [see the new “Weight of Love”] coming in the summer. Buzz Bands LA will DJ tonight’s proceedings.
‣ Crocodiles visit the Echoplex, with Bleeding Rainbow and Dunes supporting.
‣ Street Drum Corps and Nico Vega, joined by Adrian Young of No Doubt and DJ Amir of Julien K., make a ruckus at the Roxy.
‣ U.K. quartet Tribes – their debut “Baby” comes out next week – headline the Bootleg Bar, supported by Bleeding Knees Club and Army Navy.
