Our staff picks of the week:

‣ @KRBronson picks: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros on Wednesday at the Observatory – Alex Ebert and crew announced last week that their sophomore album “Here” will be out May 29. Although they have an L.A. date May 4 at the Greek Theatre, schlepping to Santa Ana to see their first SoCal show since last April’s Railroad Revival tour opener seems worth it.
‣ @Seraphina_L picks: The Raincoats on Tuesday at the Echoplex – Veterans and newbies come together for a night of all-female post-punk. British trio the Raincoats headline, with San Francisco’s trio Grass Widows as support. No boys allowed (at least on stage).
‣ @Claudinesfca picks: The Joy Formidable on Wednesday at the Mayan – The Welsh trio returns with a blast of shoegazing, dreamy indie-rock for a show that also features A Place to Bury Strangers and Big Black Delta.
