Video premiere: Whispertown, ‘Isn’t There More’

“Isn’t There More,” Morgan Nagler asks rhetorically on the closing track to Whispertown’s new EP “Parallel” (out this week via Acony Records). Of course there is, there always is, and sometimes you have to dig deeper to find it. Whether dispensing woozy Americana or the piquant synth-pop of “Open the Other Eye,” Nagler and her co-conspirator Jake Bellows (Neva Dinova) plumb such feelings of longing and alienation. The video for “Isn’t There More” brings them to life too – made on an IPhone by Heather Porcaro, it was shot at the 124-year-old (and possibly haunted) Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. “A magical spot,” Nagler says. “We soaked it up.”
