April departs with a busy Monday:
‣ Remember when guitar bands had platinum records? Eve 6 does. The L.A. pop-punk trio was selling records in droves before they were old enough to drink, but in 2004 after a platinum album (1998’s “Eve 6”), a gold record (2000’s “Horrorscope”) and a disappointing third album (2003’s “It’s All in Your Head”), they went away. Now Max Collins, John Siebels and Tony Fagenson are back with “Speak in Code” (out last week), and their radio-friendly hooks seem sharp as ever. The girls-going-wild single “Victoria” may not be what it seems, though; Collins wrote the song after imagining what happened when his wife went on a girls-only vacation to Mexico.
‣ The Little Ones, nearing completion of their first batch of new music since their 2008 album “Morning Tide,” play a free show at the Silverlake Lounge, supported by Mid Cities and Tandemoro.
‣ Jack White plays a sold-out show at the Mayan Theatre behind his new album “Blunderbuss.”
‣ LP heads up a strong bill at the Viper Room that includes the Diamond Light, Diamonds Under Fire and Digital Daggers.
‣ And Brooklyn duo Tanlines visit the Echo, with Rewards and Gothic Tropic opening.
