‣ Tonight’s edition of Grand Ole Echo at Echo (5 p.m., free and all ages) features a lot of familiar L.A. talent. On the bill: Wheelhouse, the project from Brian Whelan (pictured; he’s played with Apex Manor/the Broken West, Mike Stinson and Tony Gilkyson, among others); Jackson Tanner (new band featuring Olin & the Moon’s Brian McGinnis, Marshall Vore, et. al.); and the Ben Reddell Band (Reddell having played with Leslie & the Badgers and Maxim Ludwig, among others); and the Earthworm Ensemble (members of I See Hawks In L.A.). In all, a good night to get your Americana on.
‣ The Black Apples head up a fun lineup at the Bootleg Bar, with Brass Tax and White Murder supporting.
‣ Monsters Calling Home and Jack Littman team up to play the new “Everything Under the Sunday” series at Villains Tavern downtown.
‣ And … Are we not in Orange County? Devo does a headlining gig at the Observatory in Santa Ana.
